There are 6 units that I was involved. :

1- Counter Service Unit

2- Monthly Finance Assistance Unit

3- Medical Assistance Unit

4- IPT Unit

5- School Scholarship Unit

6- Administration Unit

Counter Service Unit - (27 April- 11 May 2011)

Overview at this unit:

For the first day, after I met my Supervisor, Cik Zaitun binti Junoh, Asst. Manager for Administration, I met the Asst.Manager of Baitulmal, Ustaz Mohd Nizam bin Haji Yahya for the interview session. Then, my supervisor made a schedule for 3 months that I must attend to all units at Baitulmal. The 1^st unit that I do my practicum is at the Counter Unit and the Asst. Manager for this unit is Ustaz Mohd Rafie bin Zakaria. On the 1^st day, I was given books about the constitution of baitulmal and ‘Penambahbaikan Skim Agihan Zakat’ for me to study. After I read the books, I started doing my practicum at the counter service. Many people that I met asked me about the assistance that Baitulmal provided, checking for form and document, requesting and submitting for form and document needed.

Counter Unit

In the morning, I was still at the counter unit. Many people that I met asked me about the assistance that Baitulmal provided, checking for form and document, requesting and submitting for form and document needed.

In the evening I learned how to key-in data in the computer after collecting the data in the morning. It was very difficult for me to key-in the data in the computer with Baitulmal’s system because I am a new worker but I tried my best because... Alhamdulillah it worked.

Counter Unit at the Ground Floor was about to distribute the Fidyah. Two types of Fidyah that we distributed were: (1: Rice -5kg (2: Food – Biscuit, Milo, Coffee, Creamer, Sardine. In the morning, my job was distributing the Fidyah. Actually Baitulmal gives them this Fidyah every month. Those who get the monthly assistance finance can get the Fidyah and those who are interested to apply for the Fidyah can get it with sufficient criteria. After lunch, I get my permanent job at this Unit which is the customer service.

2- Monthly Finance Assistance Unit (12-27 May 2011)

Basically this unit is the biggest unit in term of money used, the quantity of applicant, and a lot of file’s applicants at this unit. There are 2 assistant manager at this unit, ustazah Fatimah Noor binti Adam and Ustazah Fadzilah. This is because there a lot of work at this unit. This unit include in Ummah development unit that try to develop the asnaf at Wilayah Persekutuan from financial aspect. This unit also provides courses for those who are interesting in entrepreneurship such as sewing course and so on. My task at this unit is simple but need to precise. Work that I had done at this unit is:

1- Open document file for new applicants. After the application approved by assistant manager, my open file for new applicants.

2- Customer services also part of my work. I must attend the entire applicant for those who need to appeal, asking and taking letter.

3- Settle down the problem of applicants in term of change the name of receiver of applicants, change the address and others.

4- Investigating the needy people by go to their house. This is very interesting task for me and its very benefit as experiences.

The procedure for this unit is the applicants must attend for interview session and time interview we count for had kifayah (income - outcome) every applicant. For continuous applicants they must attend once a year for renew their assistance.

3- Medical Assistance Unit ( 30 May- 10 June )

The nature of job at this unit is complicated because it’s related with pharmacy, hospital and specialist. This unit tries to assist those who are need for help in medical treatment such as dialysis, operation, feet/hand false, hearing tool, wheelchair, spectacle, health tool ( pampers, medicine, milk) and related to medical treatment.

Work that I had done at this unit is:

1- Make letters for those who are passing and got the approval by assistant manager of medical assistant.

2- Call the applicants and specialist to take their letter of approval for applicant and local order for specialist.

3- Settle down the problem between the patient (applicant) and specialist at customer services.

4- Open file for new applicants.

Actually the process at this unit is we not pay the cost to applicant but we pay it to specialist, hospital, pharmacy. Firstly, the applicant must bring the bill cost for their treatment and then after the treatment the all company will give us the invoice and then we pay them. Actually Baitumal already have panel to settle this problem. Baitulmal will choose the cheaper company to collaborate and we not let the applicant to choose by their ownself.

4- IPT Unit ( 13 June – 24 June )

This unit is under Academic Development Unit that tries for the best to assist student especially in term of money to pay their fees at university or collage. This unit has 6 Scheme, they are:

1- General Assistance for IPT scheme

2- Preparation Assistance for IPT scheme

3- Encouragement Assistance for Hafaz Quran scheme

4- Assistance for Nursing Pusrawi Institute

5- Assistance for Professional Baitulmal Institute

6- Scholarship for Excellent Student

Besides that, the IPT Unit caters for those who are interested to further study at Middle East such as Mesir. Baitulaml will give the ticket and small amount as preparation at there.

Actually this unit is among the busiest unit because everyday student will come to apply for the assistance.

The procedure to process this application is students not attend for interview but we just looking for had kifayah only. The amount that we gave them is follow their parent’s had kifayah.

Work that I had done at this unit is:

1- Open file for new applicants after approved

2- Searching file for continuous applicants

3- Answer the phone call

4- Customer services and tries to settle down the problem for those who complicated problem.

5- School Scholarship Unit ( 27 June – 01 July )

This unit is under Academic Development Unit that tries for the best to assist student especially in term of money to pay their fees at university or collage.

This unit has 4 Scheme, they are:

1- School Scholarship Assistance Scheme

2- Emergency School Assistance Scheme

3- Course/Motivation Program Assistance Scheme

4- School Item Assistance Scheme

This unit is same level with IPT unit. So my work is same as at IPT unit.

6- Administration Unit ( 04 July – 15 July )

Here is the last unit that I was worked. As we know every Institution or Company must have the Administration Unit. It’s quite similar with other company that manages the flow of administration.

Work that I had done at this unit is:

1- Make punch card for month of August

2- Make Flow Chart working process for all Unit at Baitulmal

3- Care for item out at store room.

4- Minute Administration file.

My special thanks would goes to the entire person who were after all this time giving their full support and commitment in assuring this practical training to run smoothly and accordingly.

And not forgetting also thanks to my Supervisor at Baitulmal, Ustazah Zaitun binti Junoh who are with open heart willing to help me in supporting us spiritually and physically. This special occasion also to my supervisor in charge, Dr. Mohd Affendi and thanks a lot to all lecturer,. Syukran Jazeelan.

Finally, I pray that this practical training achieves its objectives and I hope it will be the platform to me to be a good officer in the future.

Bayangkan benda ini berlaku pada anda..Suatu hari pada masa Sembahyang jumaat yang di hadiri oleh lebih kurang 1,000 jemaah...tiba-tiba masuk dua orang lelaki yang menutupi seluruh tubuhnyer dgn pakaian hitam..tak nampak apa cuma dua biji mata dan membawa mesin gun...lalu salah seorang lelaki tu bertempik ""Sesiapa yang sanggup MATI kerana ALLAH sila berdiri di tempat kami "Selepas mendengar amaran lelaki itu maka segeralah bertempiaran lari para jemaah itu utk menyelamatkan diri...daripada jumlah yang 1,000 tadi tu hanya tinggal lebih kurang 40 orangs ahaja yang masih berdiri di tempat masing-masing termasuk Pak Imam tu...Lelaki yang bertempik tadi segeramem buka tutup mukanya lalu melihat ke arah Pak Imam sambilberkata:"Ok Pak Iman, saya dah halau SEMUA yang hipokrit, sekarangboleh lah Pak Iman mulakan sembahyang Jumaat"...Lalu kedua lelaki tersebut berpaling dan meninggalkan jemaah...

Macammana..adakah anda rasa lawak dgn cerita di atas..selain terhibur anda fikirlahlah.." Lawak kan, dari 1,000 org yg mengaku dia Islam hanya 40 yg betul-betul beriman... "" Lawak kan berapa banyak manusia yang mudah lupakan ALLAH bila menghadapi bahaya...kedua lelaki hanya membawa mesin-gun.. dia tak kata pun nak bunuh.. tapi generasi skrang.. amat lemah.. baru kena ugut terus lari lintang pukang..lupa yg dia tak sembahyang jumaat lagi...""Lawak, ada juga yang agamanya cuma seminggu sahaja..tu pun bila timesembahyang jumaat..tunjuk muka kat orgkampung.. ada tu lagi dashyatsetahun 2 kali aje..bile time sembahyang raya...""Lawakkan, ramai orang percaya kepadagosip dan apa yang di tulis oleh suratkhabar daripada apa yang tercatit dalamal-Quran""Lawak kan, berapa ramai yg percayadunia hanya sementara, akhirat adalahtempat yang kekal, tapi berlumba-lumbamengejar dunia""Lawak, kita boleh bersembang dgnboyfriend atau girlfriendberjam-jam tapi nak berdoa kepadaALLAh alahai..tak cukup masa..Dan lebih lawak lagi, bila kita bolehpost banyak thread atau e-mail yangberunsur lawak jenaka dan lucah kesemua tempat tapi merasa beratnak berkongsi dan nak hantar artikel2yang berunsur agama..Lawak kan???
